I get to DJ upstairs at Starlab for the Existence Establishment website relaunch party on Saturday. hoping to overcome laptop issues in time for 4 hours of tasteful yet unskilled djing. i’m going to play everything. keywords: 20kbps, paul rutherford, messiaen, unreleased meatwarp rex party music.

I’ve just sold my Tascam M520 console. It was huge, and had gorgeous preamps and the only EQ that I’ve ever really considered a favorite. On the other hand, it was huge and all RCA. I sold it to a really gruff working class guy that has a prog band and uses two tascam mixers totalling 24 channels going to an 8 track tape machine. here’s a list.
left panel bent to the point that low C key is stuck and almost broken
front panel buttons don’t respond 8/10 times (“recently cleaned” yet there’s dust on the PCB)
NOISE volume control works intermittently
4th octave works intermittently. when it does work, notes stick. (also, supposedly cleaned)
patches sometimes load wrong when powered on…...
